Wrap artist

Hello!
I'm a sucker for packaging! That's why I like to make a special effort when it comes to wrapping presents, who says it's what on the inside that counts? I'm all about what's on the outside! When it comes to wrapping I like to keep costs down I'll buy a big roll of paper that I use again and again and I'll change the look by adding fabric, pom poms, and other bits and bobs I have hanging around. Here's a few presents I've recently wrapped, same stripy paper, but all very different.
Stripy paper and a  sample of Cath Kidson wallpaper to prettify mums birthday present, with matching tag and card.
For my niece who turned 10 this year! My favourite rainbow themed wrapping, a rainbow badge and some yellow bias binding as a ribbon and a few colourful buttons.
For my sister, a cute carrot, a wool bow and a tag made from a magazine page.
For my photographer friend, a camera stamp, some brown parcel tape and some red wool.
I could wrap presents all day long!
Hope you're all having a good week x

April showers bring May flowers

Hello,
After the winter our garden is always a complete mess, spring comes and the tidy up starts to make it summer ready. The fence has been given a lick of grey paint I had left over from painting the floor, floor paint works as fence paint surely (I hope). The flower beds and garden bench were painted too in paint I had lying around. To add some all year round colour I made a flower stencil so that when summer goes we'll still have something colourful to look at. This week I made some bunting for the strawberry patch and planted some flowers in the palette flower beds. The garden is ready but I'm still waiting for the weather to catch up!

Right weather time for you to catch up!
Hope you're all having a good weekend

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy vintage fabric

Hello!
In my head I've been repeating I must sort through my fabric stash, I must not buy any more fabric, let's not be silly here, the first is doable the second is NOT! I'm a vintage fabricoholic! With the words I will not buy any more fabric until I sort my stash in my head I make the mistake of rerouting my gym walk home knowingly passing the danger zone that is the vintage shop, I walk inside. My heart skips a beat, fabrics!!!!!! And I can't say no! Those fabrics were the icing on the cake and the catalyst to a fabric sort out! Big enough pieces of fabric will be made into cushion covers and I've made craft packs with the rest of the smaller bits, the really small pieces will be kept for rainy day projects. I feel a lot more organised and happy that my Etsy shop is looking a little brighter!
Fabrics in the sewing pile, soon to become cushion covers.
Can't wait to get sewing now!!
Hope you're all having a good week xx

Follow every rainbow

Hello!
I've been feeling a burst if creativity recently and I've been enjoying making again. It all started when my Instagram page got 1000 followers, I wanted to say thanks so I did a giveaway of handmade things. That got the creative juices flowing, inspired a major craft room tidy up and I've been making ever since!
I'm currently going through my fabric stash.

And I've put my obsession with rainbows to use my making a bag of handmade goodies! I've added it to my etsy shop, which I plan to update soon with lots of stuff that I'm making.
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend xx

When in Rome

Hello!
We got back from Rome late last night, we had a brilliant time. Over the last couple of days my legs have walked miles from The Colosseum to The Vatican, pizza and gelato providing the energy to keep going! I'm having gelato withdrawal today! It's SO good!!! We tried to cram in lots of sight seeing in the few days we were there and we seen a lot but it's the type of place you could go back to a thousand times and see something new. We both loved Rome, I was completely overwhelmed by the sights, they are amazing and if you haven't been it's worth visiting! Here are a few pictures from the trip! First there are the ancient ruins! Mind blowing the sheer size!

The aweinspiring religious buildings
The floors and walls and ceiling of The Vatican museum and The Cistine Chapel so much to look at so little time!
But the best thing about Rome was finding a cat sanctuary! In ancient ruins no less, full of three legged, one eyed cats and worth a visit for any cat lover!

If you'd like to look at more of my Rome spam follow me on Instagram @hey_homewrecker I've been all over it like a heat rash! Oh and if you haven't got a selfie stick don't panic you are offered a selfie stick every few steps! I'm not sure this is how the Romans imagined their Empire! Ciao for now hope you've all had a great bank holiday x
