Crochet Flower Fun

Hello Lovelies,
Here's a little project I finished just before going on holidays. My mum is a great crocheter, she tried to teach me and I DO want to learn, but I'm all fingers and thumps and have little patience so I just ended up getting flustered and gave up!....Anyhoo, she's a whizz when it comes to crochet, I asked her if she wouldn't mind making a few flowers for a headband I was hoping to make for my friend, next thing I know she's whipped me up a bag full, enough flowers to make a headband and a little something else....

My first idea was to make a little waistcoat, I chopped up a vest and was going to sew the flowers on, but once I started it wasn't really going how I'd planned so scrap that and start again, this time I tried making a crochet flower collar...

If you'd like to learn how to crochet a flower and you have more patience than me, here's a great little video to show you how....

Thanks mum for making all the flowers! xxx

Have a great week everyone!

Holiday, it would be so nice.........

Hello!
We've been on our holidays in Croatia! After rectifying a shambles start (the minor detail of going to the wrong airport) we had the best holiday! Our friends Ray and Monta took care of business and house sat when we were away (Thank You!!) so at least this holiday wasn't spent worrying about Mary being alone. We stayed near Lapad beach about a 20 minute bus drive outside Dubrovnik. We spent our days sea swimming, sunbathing, cocktail drinking, air hockey playing, talking to the Croatian cats, ice cream eating, book reading....
We arrived home late last night and have spent today catching up, 10 days of blogs to read and two episodes of Breaking Bad to watch!

I have to announce the winner of my birthday blog! Thank you for the birthday wishes!
The name I picked out of my hat is Op Shop Mama!

Hope you're all having a great week xx

Kitchen Makeover Part 3

Hello!
Kitchen makeover continues.....
The next project on the list was to update the kitchen cupboard. The last time I gave it a little makeover it looked like this. There was a lot of colour going on and having the patterned background it didn't really show of the colours of the kitchenware, I decided on a white background for the cupboard and for the wall a fab piece of original 1970's  wallpaper from this Etsy shop. Alot of coats of cupboard paint later we looking more like this......
